The 2025 Central West Cycle Trail tour was a 19-day, 800 km ride from Dubbo to Orange in wildly variable weather, where five experienced touring companions navigated everything from highways to sandy forest trails, creek crossings, livestock encounters, wineries and local hospitality, while also dealing with two rider injuries that led to train transfers and hotel stays; despite extremes of heat, cold, rain, hail, flies, magpies and a couple of punctures, the group maintained its camaraderie, enjoyed memorable moments like winning raffles in Wellington, and benefited from the well-planned nature of the official trail.
