Day 2   Tuesday 2nd July         Imbil to Lake Borumba to Jimna           59 km  and 1271 M of climbing     No food or water on route today

We meet at the Imbil Pub (Railway Hotel) at 8 am for a 8.30 am start.

The ride has a gentle amble 12 km or so on bitumen out to Lake Borumba. We’ll take a 15 minute break to take in the beauty, check out the dam wall or whatever,..

Then its onto gravel with several creek crossings where we will need to wade across knee deep water.

Unfortunately there is a climb up to the plateau that Jimna sits on, but its great Aussie bush. The road will be quiet and the birds can be heard. We ride past the historic Jimna fire tower, still closed for restoration but a marvel to see.

We will stay at the Jimna Base Camp, an old Qld State Government school, now in private hands. The details are noted below.
