2019 Noosa Supported Tour

The 5th BBTA Sunshine Coast Noosa Supported Tour is happening on the weekend of 1 & 2 June this year, starting and finishing in Yandina. By signing on to the tour you are automatically booked into our accommodation in Noosaville. There are payment options for Noosaville if either you are staying Friday and Saturday nights, or just Saturday night. Each day there are longer/shorter options for rides, suiting a wide variety of cyclists.
THE RIDE IN MORE DETAIL
On Saturday riders have a choice of doing the 65km ride with coffee in Cooroy (46km), or the 108km ride, taking breaks in Kenilworth (39km) and Cooroy (90km), before the downhill to Noosaville. On Sunday riders have a choice of 3 ride distances. The shortest ride of 65km loops around to Pomona (35km) for a break, then on through Cooroy and Eumundi to the finish, while the 70km and 80km routes take in the Cootharaba Rd climb before stopping for morning tea in Pomona and on to Yandina via Cooroy and Eumundi.

REGISTERING FOR THE TOUR
Email Peter Brennan at email@example.com, nominating your approximate average speed. If you have a person happy to share a room please let Peter know when registering. Also, if you have a non-riding partner who will be joining you in Noosaville for accommodation/dinner please let Peter know for bookings.

Final Registrations and payments are due by Friday 17th May
A number of people will head up to the coast on the Friday evening before the tour, staying in Yandina or Noosaville. Once you register for the tour you are automatically booked into the accommodation in Noosaville at either the Anchor Motel (Anchor) or Noosa River Retreat (NRR). Noosa River Retreat is only available to those who are staying 2 nights as it is not available for a one night only booking, and is available on a first in, first served basis. If you are taking up this option please email Peter ASAP. Costs are non-refundable after 17t May.
Accommodation Saturday night only: Anchor Motel
Single (own room) = $140
Twin Share/Double = $80pp
Accommodation Friday & Saturday: 2 nights
Single (own room)= $280 (Anchor), $320 (NRR)
Twin Share/Double = $160pp (Anchor), $340 (NRR)
There is a $20 Tour Administration fee for riders only, payable when paying for accommodation.
START/FINISH TIMES & SPEED GROUPS
The tour starts from 7:30am onwards in Yandina on Saturday 1st June. The plan is to have 4 speed groups for the tour, depending on numbers. The final speed group on Saturday will contain all riders doing the 65km route.
A - 7:30am: 18-22km/h 108km
B - 7:45am: 23-26km/h 108km
C - 8:00am: 27+km/h 108km
D - 8:15am: All 65km riders
Sunday (Any Distance)
SATURDAY LUNCH/DINNER & SUNDAY BREAKFAST
Lunch on Saturday is a chance for you to investigate Cooroy or Noosaville on the way into town or after a couple of quiet drinks at the Noosa River Retreat at the end of the ride. Drinks will be available to buy as per usual.
For 6:00pm Dinner we are booked into the function room at the Villa Noosa Hotel, next to Dan Murphys in Noosaville and an easy 10 minutes walk from our accommodation.
Breakfast on Sunday will be 'catch your own' before we leave, with the first group getting away at 7:30am. Morning tea/coffee at Pomona.
SUPPORT VEHICLES - WE NEED YOU!
With the structure of this tour we need drivers & vehicles to support the ride by carrying bags only. If you or your partner can help please let Peter know when you are registering for the ride. The support vehicles are there to carry o’nite clothes/change of cycling gear - they are not sag wagons! Riders are expected to achieve the distances stated without assistance and carrying basic food/drink requirements.
