Join us for a 190k ride with great scenery and quiet roads with options for shorter / flatter rides if you prefer. This was initially intended as a 3 Peaks training jaunt but everybody is welcome to ride as much or little as you want.
Starting at the park and ride at The Gap, the main route goes out to Mt Glorious for a coffee then ducks down into the Samford Valley where we take as many side roads as possible (avoiding traffic) to Dayboro and up Mt Mee. We turn around at Dahmongah Lookout Park and stop at the Pitstop Café for more food. Returning to Samford the way we came; the last main climb is up the goat track to Mt Nebo then on back to the cars at The Gap.
Coffee, food and water is available at Mt Glorious (30k), Dayboro (77k), Pitstop Café (111k), Samford (156k) and Mt Nebo (171k)

Shorter / Easier Alternatives
Ride with us to Mt Glorious for coffee then return back the way you came or duck down into the scenic Samford Valley, ride the rail trail to Ferny Grove and catch the train from there (67km with 1,400m climbing) a great day out in itself!

From Dayboro it is only 20 rolling k’s to Petrie station for an early exit.
If the last climb up Mt Nebo feels too much on the day you can take the rail trail to Ferny Grove and catch the train or roll over Settlement Rd back to The Gap.
The aim is to stay together in groups as much as possible. We will stop and regroup at the turns and at the top of all the principal climbs along the main route. If you want to take some of the shorter options be prepared to navigate that part yourself.
This is a hilly ride and expect an average speed of 19 or 20 km/hr for the whole day. The aim is to finish with a smile and not burn out along the way.
