Join us for a 180k ride with great scenery and quiet roads with options for shorter / flatter rides if you prefer. This was initially intended as a 3 Peaks training jaunt but everybody is welcome to ride as much or little as you want.
The main route (now all sealed) goes out through Mt Glorious, past Somerset Dam through Kilcoy, then on via Neurum to climb Mt Mee, down to Wamuran and the smooth rail trail to Caboolture before catching the train home.

Coffee, food and water is available at Mt Glorious (40k), Somerset Dam (90k), Kilcoy (117k), Wamuran (169k) and in Caboolture. A short detour can take you to a water tap on the top of Mt Mee if needed.
Shorter / Easier Alternatives
Ride with us to Mt Glorious for coffee then return back the way you came or duck down into the scenic Samford Valley, ride the rail trail to Ferny Grove and catch the train from there (67km with 1,400m climbing) a great day out in itself!

If the climb up Mt Mee feels too much on the day there are a couple of alternatives.
A)
Just before we start the climb up Mt Mee (147k mark), turn left to D’Aguilar and follow the highway to Wamuran, a parallel side road is available for much of the way to avoid traffic. Rejoin the main route at Wamuran for the rail trail to Caboolture.

B)
At the 132k mark instead of turning right on Stanton Rd, continue riding to Woodford then follow the D’Aguilar highway to Wamuran. Bike paths and side roads available for most of this part if the traffic is too much. Rejoin the main route at Wamuran for the rail trail to Caboolture.

The aim is to stay together in groups as much as possible. We will stop and regroup at the turns and at the top of all the principal climbs along the main route. If you want to take some of the shorter options be prepared to navigate that part yourself.
This is a hilly ride and expect an average speed of 19 or 20 km/hr for the whole day. The aim is to finish with a smile and not burn out along the way.
