We arrive at Peaks Crossing and park along the roadside opposite the Peaks Crossing Hotel. For those interested in the baggage service (at $15/per person) to drop bags off in Boonah and return them to Peaks Crossing the next day, you will need to have your $15 ready and put your bags into the back of the transport car.
We plan to leave Peak Crossing at 08:30am. The route for the day is shown below or can be downloaded in various formats i.e. MS-Word, TCX and GPX from the links below.
MS – Word version https://bbta.org/docs.ashx?id=1392590
GPX Version https://bbta.org/docs.ashx?id=1392586
TCX Version https://bbta.org/docs.ashx?id=1392587
The MS Word version contains the ride sheets for both days.
We plan to have a rest break in Warrill View, coffee and lunch in Kalbar (~50km). In the past we have tried to get lunch at Moogerah Dam but the café there is very unreliable.
Some riders may choose to go straight to Boonah from Kalbar. I have not mapped out that route but it is quite easy.
Those continuing on will ride to Moggerah Dam, then over the hill for a nice downhill ride into Mt Alford. In the past we have stopped off at the Scenic Rim Brewery at Mt Alford https://www.scenicrimbrewery.com.au/ and based on feedback I have had so far, we will do the same this year. After a refreshment we will then ride into Boonah.
That evening at 6:30pm we will meet for dinner at the Boonah Tavern, also called Simons Tavern. I have set up another event in the calendar called Dinner in Boonah https://bbta.org/content.aspx?page_id=4002&club_id=738657&item_id=2349083 and if you are interested, please register so I can provide the venue with numbers.

On the next day, riders will be able to walk up into the town for breakfast but our plan is to meet outside the Australia Hotel at 09:00am ready to ride back to Peaks Crossing.
It is a short ride (approximately 31 km ) and will take just under 1.5 hours. For those using the bag service, bags will be back at Peaks Crossing for our return.

To keep everyone connected I will set up an WhatsApp group for the ride. If you are uncertain about something either call, email or WhatsApp me. At this stage there is a plan for a little quiz about key features of our surroundings and perhaps a question on some of the history of the area. Should be fun.
Cheers
