Whats ON in March

Paul Glennon | Published on 3/2/2025

If you missed the recent AGM, then you also would have missed the sea of blue and yellow new Club jerseys in full display. What a great sight and thank you to everyone for contributing to a fabulous AGM.

Your Club Committee for this year is

Paul Glennon as President, Craig Jones as Secretary, Brian Grebert as Treasurer, Peter Damm as Website Coordinator, Peter Skinner as Rides Reporter, Glenn Rashleigh as Membership Coordinator, Ian Chant as Membership Engagement Coordinator and Paul Glennon as Rides Coordinator.

So Thank you to each of you for stepping up to lead in these important fields.

And a big Thank you to Iain Moore who steps away form Rides Coordinator this year.

This month sees an increase in the number of Regular rides with a number of Special rides.

Peter Brennan has the Nanango to Kingaroy Supported Tour on next weekend the 8th and 9th. Registrations closed a couple of weeks ago, however, you can put your name down for the Sunny Coast Noosa Tour in 3 months, down for the 7th and 8th June. Always a fabulous weekend away.

Lawrence Ferrari has a unsupported two day tour A short raid over the Border this week 4th and 5th.

I highly recommend this type of short tour to anyone considering touring as the majority of highly experienced members in the Club will be there. You could even tee it up with Lawrence to meet and chat with them over pre dinner drinks at the Wooyung Beach Holiday Park this Tuesday evening, to pick up the key points on touring and see their bikes and equipment first hand,…a couple of drinks always brings out the good oil,…

Lawrence also leads the Clubs Premier Tour for 25, the 19 day ‘Wine, Pink Lakes and Desert’ into South Australia. Seven members are ready to roll in a couple of weeks. All the best to you guys,…it’ll be a fabulous tour.

The regular rides are Tuesdays Alt.Oasis to Sandgate, Thursdays Redcliffe Run and the Coffee at the Beach rides, Iain Moore’s Saturday Arvo ride and Sunday’s Brunch Nudgee Beach on 2nd tomorrow and 16th and Heather and Aileen’s Bayside Breeze ride on tow Sundays 9th and 23th,..

John Stevens has decided to step aside from his regular Sunday morning ‘Two Points for Gumdale’ ride which he has led for the past 14 years. Thank  you John. We appreciate your significant contributions to the Club.

This ride has around three regular riders. It will continue as the ‘Bayside three Points’ with Robert Martin as the contact person. We want to encourage more members to consider this ride as it really covers some beautiful spots as you could imagine, following the coast for a lot of the ride. The ride will always proceed as long as members have registered, however, if for any reason there are no registrations then the ride will not proceed that Sunday. Its down for every Sunday morning at 6.30 am leaving Eastside Shopping Village. Please support this great ride. Thank you.

Breathing Workshop. Have you ever wondering why some riders slip past you with very little ease,.. Maybe it could be a more efficient breathing technique to feed ample oxygen to muscles in need,.. Paul Rawson is one such person whose pedaling seems effortless. He has offered to explain How breathing makes all the difference,.. Tuesday 25th at 9.15 am at the Grid outdoor coffee hut,...after the Alt,Oasis ride to Sandgate,..

On Sunday 16th we have put a third party charity ride on the Calendar,.. you will need to register with Rotary 'Ride the Range' by clicking the link on the details on our calendar.

Please consider the two day event at Stanthorpe early next month on 3th and 4th April. You can check out the fun had last year if you go to the Ride Reports under News at the top left three horizontal lines on your phone App.

Membership Engagement. With this new Committee position that Ian Chant has taken up we are now proceeding with a Chat platform via WhatsApp to allow members to contact each other on Special rides just for that ride,..then a Club wide group for contact there as well. All the details will be available in about a month.

Another exciting bit of news is that the Club wants to obtain a Library of Rides by joining existing platforms which hold many interesting and varied rides. We will keep you up to date as we get further into the review of whats on offer.

Well,..Thats it for now,...

Go Well,..Be Safe,...Have FUN,
