The ‘Hello,…Goodbye Evening’ has arrived,…just hours away,…and to usher her in we’ll all be napping now,…right,…12 midnight seems a lot later than it use to be,…hey
So,..all the very best for enjoying the evening,..
That said,…2024 was good for our Club,…however, I see plenty of new and extra rides already being planned,…so be ready for our planning meeting, on the calendar for Thursday 6th February,…4 pm The Charming Squire, South Brisbane.
Please come,…with your favourite ride in mind,…and we’ll pick it up from there,..
I’m sure the Calendar is not fully populated at we go to air here,…please keep in touch with the Calendar for details.
All the midweek regular rides are in place on the calendar. A special addition is the Peaks training ride, 180 km (or less) Glorious Esk and Woods with hills as you would expect. Down for Tuesday week 14th January. leaving 6 am from Suncorp Stadium.
Also we are still without our Phone App,…although disappointing, we are totally in the hands of our provider, Club Express.
However, we can still access the Calendar on our phone via a Web Browser, which I find OK as a temporary measure.
If you are having any difficulty please message me here.
New Club Jerseys. These can be ordered now by hitting the blue button in the centre of the Club Home page.
Ordering will be open for the entire month of January closing on 31st.
Please keep in mind, this ordering is a once only offer by Scody holding their prices to that of the initial orders.
We will collate the orders and submit one bulk order to Scody with manufacturing to take 6 weeks. (approx mid March)
The Club AGM (Annual General Meeting ) just 4 weeks away set for Sunday morning 2nd February 8 am to 9 am at the City Botanical Gardens Cafe where we usually meet. We would like as many members present,….Please register now,..Thanks.
The Nanango Kingaroy weekend ride organised by Peter Brennan is not too far away, down for the 8th and 9th March. You will need to Register on the Calendar, however, I see that there is a hold on that for the moment.
Please keep yourself posted on that if you are keen to go. I will update you on the next email.
Moving on a tad further to the 16th March Lawrence Ferrari has a very exciting 21 day tour from Adelaide up through the Barossa and Clare Valleys to Port Augusta. Then tracking down the Eyre Peninsula before slipping across the Spencer Gulf by ferry to head back to Adelaide.
A top tour if you can make it. You’ll need to register,…seven members keen and ready to roll,…Please Consider.
We are aiming to incorporate a number of off road rides, open country trails, including Rail trails to the mix of rides we offer. These are often 2 and 3 day events to destinations typically within 2 to 3 hours drive from Brisbane. Stay turned for this,…many will be discussed at the upcoming planning meeting.
I have three in mind that I am working on at present.
Ian Chant has 4 planned and ready. So we are hoping of at least one each month.
To assist with contact between riders for these and any ride, we will be setting up a Chat function on an existing popular App to make the whole experience far more enjoyable. More on this next month.
So,…thats it for the moment,..
bring on 2025,…
and Happy New Year to all,…
