Whats ON in November

Paul Glennon | Published on 11/1/2024

The penultimate month and we’re just cruising on available rides to consider.
But we have plans to ramp this up a touch, to bring in more choice in off road rides and some variety in urban riding too,….so,…

The Alan Stevens ride to Deception and meet up with Alan, not having seen him for a year since he moved up to Burpengary.

This coming Thursday 7th, sees us do this with a 91 km loop ride to take in some delightful foreshore not seen in awhile.

The ride starts at the Crit track at 6.30 am long side the Redcliffe Run.

The Club Get Together is back on the Brisbane River at Mary Mac’s Cafe below the Powerhouse at 8 am Saturday week the 9th,…See you there,…

Peter Brennan’s supported Cambooya to Warwick weekend ride is on Saturday fortnight 16th and 17th. There are 24 riders and 8 supporters signed on to date, with registrations closing tomorrow Saturday 2nd.
Always a fabulous weekend away,…Please Consider.

The regular rides are on the calendar with all the details for you to see.
Iain Moore’s Brunch - Nudgee Beach Sunday morning ride is on the first and third Sundays 3th and 17th leaving Kalinga Park at 7.30 am. John Stevens '2 points from Gumdale' ride is NOT on this month, however, he hopes to have it back on again next month. The mid week Tuesday Alt Oasis ride to Sandgate and Thursday’s Redcliffe Run and Coffee at the Beach rides are on, leaving the Crit track at 6.30 am, 6.30 am and 7.30 am respectively.

Club Christmas Party Saturday 14th December. This year we have selected a venue of the Maritime Museum grounds directly on the Brisbane River. The venue is absolutely stunning. However, this venue is tentative subject to us getting 40 attendees. The Museum is a self funded organisation and survives solely on ticket sales, donations and revenue from use of their fabulous venue. We only have 23 members and guests registered to date. If you register its a commitment of $10 a head to the museum and with other groups keen to get this date from us, we need 40 or it will not go ahead for us. We only have a week to Friday 8th to do so,…Please register NOW if you want to be part of a great club night together,..

Club Jersey Update. Scody have confirmed that the jerseys will be completed by this coming Friday 8th. I will send out another email around this time setting out collection points and any relevant information regarding the jerseys.

Club Phone App. Several members have asked about 'How to see who is registered' on any particular ride or event.

You can do the by getting into the App, hitting the ride you are interested in, then looking for the 'Two person head and shoulder’ Symbol,….Hit this to see the Register of who is attending.

Peter Damm put on a Long Distance Glorious Kilcoy and Mee 180 km ride last Tuesday which 7 members registered and rode. This type of ride is perfect training for those wanting the challenge of the Victorian Peaks ride in March each year. However, you don’t need to be super fit to have a go, as it is all about endurance. If you have any interest in testing your endurance, see Peter as options are available to create shorter distances.

Peter plans to put this type of ride on again this year.

We really are keen to introduce more variety of rides onto the calendar. Next year we hope to see the return of the Samford Pony trail off road rides and variations of this style of riding. There are Club Members regularly doing off road rides and we hope to get several of these landing on the calendar from time to time. If this interests you, please message me.

Well,..thats it for now,..
