Just in the door from a beaut alternative ride down the Velo 1 to Springwood and breakie at Ikea. 16 club members on the ride, so something a little different from our normal rides often attracts a following.
That said, we are very keen to see loads more rides to places in and beyond Brisbane, that interest you.
So this month, we have three special rides together with our regular ones.
On the Ekka Show day Wednesday week the 14th, John Stevens has his Public Holiday East side ride leaving directly under the Gateway Bridge south side at 7 am bound for Wellington Point and Wynnum. Please consider.
From Wednesday 21st, Helen Walker leads a 7 day Cobb & Co Cycle Tour in the Darling Downs. This is an unsupported ride taking in the towns of Condamine, Glenmorgan, Surat and Yuleba. Also the tour takes in the 100th anniversary celebrations of the last Cobb & Co coach ride and you’ll be taking part in the Festivities. Then on Sunday 25th you’ll be riding along roads closed off to all other traffic and included in the reenactment of the Stage Coach era.
So, the humble bicycle gets a guernsey when 4 wheels have just got to wait. Five riders down for this tour, certainly room for more,…
And then the annual Scenic Rim Tour starts in Peak Crossing on Thursday 29th, heading to Lake Moogerah with an overnighter in the delightful town of Boonah. The Friday then completes the loop back to the cars. Lovely country and plenty of companions on the journey, with 22 registered to date.
The regular rides of Tuesday’s ‘Alt Oasis’ to Sandgate, Thursday’s ‘Redcliffe Run’ and Daryl Beatie’s ‘Coffee at the Beach’ mid week rides are on,…together with John Stevens Sunday morning '2 Points from Gumdale' is always a top ride hugging the coast for some beaut scenery. So,..Please consider.

Last weekend I rode the full length of the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail (BVRT) with my two sons, riding from Yarrman to Wulkuraka 160 kms. However, I’m keen to put this ride on the calendar as a three day ride at around 40 to 60 kms a day. If anyone is interested in this ride please email me and I can consider more details.
