Knocking out this Club email while thinking, will I throw in my beanie and warm jacket for Kilkivan this week as 13 of us ride the KKRT Rail Trail south. Not too late to jump in as we only leave this Wednesday. Thanks to Ian Chart for putting this 3 day event together for us to Enjoy.
Sorry to mention it, if your polishing your shoes for another day at the office. Don’t worry,… if they can miss you for a couple of days, you may consider the Annual Woodford to Maleny ride coming up on Wednesday 15th. Ian Chant is leading and co ordinating as well so its sure to be a fabulous getaway. (just ask anyone who scored a spot on the recent ‘Tin Town Adventure’ to Stanthorpe) . Thirteen have put their hands up and ready to go. A beaut ride with coffee in the lovely Peachester, with a gentle ride up Bald Knob Rd into Maleny . The return leg is a loop to the west and also enjoyable, with some hills. Oh,.did I mention, your bags are carried.
The other feature for this month is Peter Brennan’s Noosa Supported ride down for the weekend of 18th and 19th . Peter is changing the format with the Saturday and Sunday rides each starting from Noosaville, taking in the best country the hinterland has to offer. Registrations are still open until Friday this week the 3th. There are options to select your Speed group and up to four separate Routes and distances from 38 km up to 76 km on offer. So something for everyone. As of a week ago, 26 riders were registered,…maybe more by now.
Please consider.
Our Club Together is on Saturday morn the 11th at M. K. Bower Cafe Logan Rd Stones Corner. A great venue for bikers as ample room for bikes, safely in view, right next to us. So, let’s aim for 20,…I’ll be there,…I hope you can too,..
The Labor Day weekend coming up sees two special rides. First is Iain Moore’s ‘Brunch - Nudgee Beach’ ride leaving Kalinga Park this Sunday morn at 7.30. And then on Monday 6th, John Steven’s Public Holiday ride is leaving directly under the Gateway Bridge South end at 7 am bound for Wellington Point. Please consider these two Club rides.
The regular rides are on the calendar to comb through. They include the 2 Points from Gumdale every Sunday morning leaving the Eastside Shopping Village at 7 am, Tuesday’s 7 am Alt. Oasis to Sandgate and Thursday’s 7 am Redcliffe Run and Daryl Beatie’s 7.30 am ’Coffee at the Beach’ all leaving the Nundah Crit track. The Saturday Arvo ride is down for the 4th leaving Windsor Train Station at 3 pm. Please check in with Iain for the other Saturdays in the month.

In fact, The Tin Town Adventure just over two weeks ago, which everyone was talking about how great it was,…can be seen here https://bbta.org/content.aspx?page_id=5&club_id=738657&item_id=100387
If you haven’t ridden the Mawson Trail, you may just want to add it to your bucket list. It’s an off road trail in the specular Flinders Ranges of SA. One of our members Mike Moynihan rode it recently and shares his story. You can read it here https://bbta.org/content.aspx?page_id=5&club_id=738657&item_id=100415
Another great ride was the Munda Biddi trail in WA ridden and written up Craig Jones.
Just go too the three horizontal lines at the top left corner on your phone App, hit ‘News’ and there they are,…
Now, one final point. You’ll all be excited to know,..We are having a Club Survey. The reason is, we want to know which type of rides you want. So then, we can place more focus there, and help get them on the calendar. It really is ‘Your Club’ and ‘Your Views’ help get us there.
So, the Survey is very simple to complete,..just 13 questions and 9 of them are simply ‘Tick a Box’. There are several places to put in your comments. I just completed it. It took around 7 minutes.
You can find the Survey on the Home Page of your phone App (and also the website) as a blue button with the unique name of ‘Member Survey’. It sits directly under the Ride Calendar.
We are asking Everyone to complete it, this month of May. Thank you in advance,…
So,...See you on your bike somewhere, sometime,...soon I hope,..
